Kawasaki Robot Tube Deburring

Our client needed to automate a wire-brush deburring operation on fabricated tube — the kind of repetitive finishing work that’s hard on people, inconsistent by hand, and a bottleneck when volume climbs.

Akeratos programmed a Kawasaki industrial robot to handle the deburring, running the wire brush across each part with consistent pressure and coverage every cycle. Deburring is deceptively demanding to automate well: too little contact leaves burrs, too much wears the part or the brush, and the path has to follow the actual geometry of the tube. Getting it right is a programming problem as much as a hardware one — and that’s where the project delivered.

Beyond the finished cell, the client specifically recognized Akeratos for fast turnaround and responsiveness — getting the robot programmed, dialed in, and productive without the long timelines that often come with industrial automation.
